"Have you performed the procedure known as a brow bone reduction?"

Yes, I have performed brow bone reduction for people with a prominent brow bone. This is used to treat what may be referred to as a "neanderthal" look. This is more common in males, but I have also done brow bone reduction in females. I do require that CT scans be performed first to determine the thickness of the bone and the relation to the underlying sinuses. The procedure is performed through a small incision and a small rotating tool is used to burr down the bone. The results can be very dramatic in softening the appearance and making the eyes appear much less hollow or deep-set.
